The Kahiki Story: Walking over the mat and through the entrance of the Kahiki Supper Club, millions of patrons were met by the glowing eyes of the giant Tiki gods during the restaurant's 39 years of operation in Columbus, Ohio. Kahiki replicated the atmosphere of a tropical Polynesian island, including every detail from thatch huts and palm trees to rainforests and tropical fish. But the experience of being transformed into an islander was not the only factor that attracted loyal customers, celebrities and politicians to Kahiki's doors beginning in 1961: the award-winning, gourmet food never ceased to excite the appetite and thrill our guests. Over the years, our restaurant won numerous awards, including The Best Polynesian Restaurant in the World and One of the Top 100 Restaurants of the 20th Century. On August 26, 2000, the Kahiki Supper Club closed its doors with a grand Bon Voyage party. Ironically, this closing marked the start of a new era for the company, with attention focused solely upon the growing frozen food business. Today, Kahiki produces a wide array of items that can be found in supermarkets, membership clubs, convenience stores, and foodservice operations across the United States and the world. Our success has sparked the need for a new 119,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in Gahanna, OH. This impressive plant has expanded our capabilities and allows us to reach new heights through enhanced product offerings and the highest quality standards for our customers.
